Balance and alignment? Does it matter? If you want to improve function, alleviate pain and improve physical performance on a lasting basis, then yes, it does. The iconic image of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man above, is all about a balanced human form. That basic body-style and symmetry has been assumed to be the gold standard for perfect physical health. The feet, legs and thighs, pelvis, torso and chest, shoulders and arms, neck and head. Perfection in proportion, balanced between right and left sides. It is the picture of human health.

But, that’s what’s so interesting. Not many of us will ever look like that.

And that’s just fine. Whats really interesting is the fact that we’re all unique. We are all one-offs.

We can all have our own unique and individual balance and alignment.

Without it, we are more prone to injury and healing can be impaired. You can start fresh with a balanced and aligned baseline. My techniques are proven to work. Your new baseline established. You can now bouce back from injury and dysfunction.

Otherwise injuries and/or dysfunctions just layer in, one upon another. Each ensuing insult, further complicates your ability to return to physical health.

It’s not necessary!

What’s really helpful is whole-body balance and alignment. It keeps us from rattling ourselves apart. With it, you can pull yourself back together again.

Imagine your body out of balance, out of alignment. One shoulder higher that the other (out of balance) the other poking too far forwward (out of alignment). No matter how hard you try.  You can’t keep them pulled down or back. And annoyingly, something else may pop out of place too. So you think to yourself, “I need to stretch!” But, it doesn’t seem to stay stretched. At least not for long. What the heck?!

Imagine that your pelvis is tipped too far forward or backward. Or that the right side appears higher than the left? Pelvic imbalances will affect the shape and contours of your spine. The effects will ripple up and down your spine.

Your body can respond in many different ways. The position of your head, neck and shoulders can alter. Forces running up through your feet, ankles, knees and hips go out of kilter. Your body is interlinked and interconnected. Each part affects another. Regions affect one another. Different combinations affect other combinations

Pain and dysfunction can appear almost anywhere. And that pain and dysfunction can be distant from the cause.

With a bit of detective work. Cause and effect become clear. An individalized treatment plan devised. As a result, the forest is emerging from the trees
